§ The Long FormProduct Guide · Agentic Workflows

What is Claude Cowork.

Anthropic's small-business surface area, explained — what it is, who it is for, and where it overlaps with Claude Code and Claude for Enterprise.

21 April 2026 · 8 min read · Kelford Press editorial

Claude Cowork is Anthropic's attempt to package agentic workflows for organisations that do not have a platform team. It launched alongside the Small Business push, and it targets the 44% of US GDP that runs on five-to-fifty-person operations. Where Claude Code is the IDE surface and Claude for Enterprise is the platform surface, Cowork is the operations surface.

§ 01

What is actually in the box

Fifteen pre-built agentic workflows — month-end close (QuickBooks + PayPal), invoice chasing (HubSpot), campaign management (Canva), contract handling (DocuSign), and ten more in the same vein. Each workflow is a packaged agent with a tool surface, a guardrail set, and a small admin UI. You point it at your accounts, you set thresholds, and it runs on schedule.

  • Targets businesses without dedicated platform engineers.
  • Workflows are first-party; they ship with the integrations pre-authenticated.
  • Pricing is per-workflow, not per-token, which removes the procurement surprise.
  • Audit trails are first-class — every action is logged with the human approval state.
